Costing Analysis (CAT) Tool

OCCI Reports can be generated using the Cost Analysis Tool (CAT):

CAT - Cost Analysis Tool  (Note: This Tool requires Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher)

The CAT tool can generate reports based on Case Mix Groups for diagnoses and procedures.

Important Notes:

1. A case represents one patient visit. The patient cost is determined by costs incurred within the patient’s admit and discharge dates in the functional centre.
2. Physician costs are typically not included in the OCCI database with the exception of physicians on salary and hospitals billing fee-for-service in areas such as Diagnostic Imaging and/or Cardiovascular Services.
3. For the facilities which do not cost Allied Health, such costs were estimated for completeness. The services in Allied Health that were estimated are as follows:

   FY 2002/03:

4. Prior to FY 04/05, Ambulatory Care includes only Day Surgery.
5. Beginning in FY 02/03, the ICD-10-CA Classification system was used. Prior to FY 02/03, ICD-9-CA was used.
6. Beginning in FY 01/02, complexity is not included.

In accordance with the Freedom of Information Privacy of Privacy Act (FIPPA), CMGs, DPGs, diagnosis or procedure codes with 5 or fewer cases will not be released. An “FOI” (freedom of information) will be displayed in its place.
